1. Acceptance of terms
By using the AmeriSafe Van Lines website, requesting a quote, booking a move, or otherwise interacting with our services, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the services.
These terms govern your use of our website and the services described herein. They do not replace your bill of lading or move contract, those documents control the specific terms of any booked move.
2. Services
AmeriSafe Van Lines (AMS Moving Inc) provides and arranges interstate household-goods transportation in compliance with the regulations of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), holding authority as both an interstate motor carrier and a broker of household goods. Our USDOT registration number is 3341650 and our Motor Carrier (MC) number is 1066696. These can be verified on the FMCSA SAFER website. Where a move is arranged with another FMCSA-authorized motor carrier, that carrier is identified on your estimate and bill of lading.
3. Quotes and binding estimates
All quotes are estimates until you sign a binding estimate. A signed binding estimate locks the price for the inventory and services described, additional items, services, or destinations not on the original estimate may require an addendum and an adjusted price.
4. Payment terms
Payment terms are set in your individual move contract. Most moves require a deposit at booking and final payment at delivery. We accept major credit cards, ACH, and certified check. Personal checks may be subject to advance clearance.
5. Protection and claims
Released coverage (60¢ per pound, per item) is the federal default and is included free on every move. Full-value protection is available at additional cost and is recommended for households with high-value items. Claims must be filed in writing within 9 months of delivery per federal interstate-moving regulations.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AmeriSafe is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Our total liability is limited to the protection coverage you elected at booking.
7. Cancellations and refunds
Your deposit is non-refundable unless you notify AmeriSafe Van Lines in writing within 72 hours after signing your Bill of Lading. If you cancel in writing within that window, your deposit is refunded. If you cancel after the 72-hour window, your deposit converts to a credit toward future interstate moving services, usable by the cardholder within 12 months from the date of cancellation. Approved refunds are processed by the next billing cycle. 8. Forum and governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the state in which AmeriSafe is headquartered, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the state and federal courts of that state.
9. Changes to terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated to active customers in writing.
